Patrick’s 4 PhotoPass Rules
I am all about you getting your bang for your buck. Not utilizing Memory Maker is one of the BIGGEST mistakes you could make on your trip.
Niko & I pose with Pluto while the PhotoPass Photographer snaps a few great shots for us to enjoy. And look, I’m in the picture!
What is Memory Maker? It’s a package add on that allows you to use the Disney PhotoPass services. It includes all the ride photos, ride videos (some rides), and photos snapped by PhotoPass photographers around Walt Disney World—this is in the parks & at the resorts. All you have to do is scan your MagicBand, MagicBand+, Key to the World, or your phone. You’ll then be able to download them while you’re still there.
Now that you know the basics, let’s get to the fun part. Here are my tips for making the most out of Memory Maker:
I wanted a photo with my kids.
Sure, they aren’t all looking, but this is one I can repeat next year as they grow. I’ll stop and make it happen.
1. If you want the photo, stop & get it now. Don't wait because it might not happen.
This has happened to me plenty of times and I’ve learned.
The Magic Shot
A Magic Shot is when they add a little Disney Magic after the photo has been taken. There was no line for this photographer, and this photo is perfect.
2. When there are 3 or less groups in line for a photo, you should hop in there too. It won't take long. I promise.
The only potential hiccup to this rule is if it’s a character photo. They need breaks.
This is a favorite…
I had no idea he was doing this, and I love it. This is Niko’s personality at the moment—goofy.
3. Kids or someone else doesn’t want to “cooperate” with the photo? No problem. There’s two ways to do this.
First Option: Take the photo without them. In fact, do that anyways when I’m the only one who sees a photographer without a line.
Second Option: Let them goof off and be kids! Some of my favorite photos are of my son being himself. It’s a beautiful thing.
Quick Photoshoot on Mainstreet
There was a Disney PhotoPass Photographer hanging under a shade. She offered to snap a few photos of us with our coffees.
4. If you see a photographer standing somewhere or walking through the park, ask them where they are headed or if they will take your photo real quick.
Sometimes, these random shots are the best photos.
They might be heading to “open” a photopass spot and you’ll be first in line.
Now that you know my tips, ask yourself if you’re travelers who will follow them. If so, make sure you add Memory Maker. I always travel with it! I also download them on a computer and save the folders into the cloud.
Currently there are 3 pricing options for Memory Maker: Advanced Purchase for $185.00, During & Post-Vacation for $210.00, & One Day for $75.
Love this ride photo with a friend! It helps we know where the cameras.
